Homography Based Parallel Volume Intersection: Toward Real-Time Volume Reconstruction using Active Cameras
نویسندگان
چکیده
Silhouette volume intersection is one of the most popular ideas for reconstructing the 3D volume of an object from multi-viewpoint silhouette images. This paper presents a novel parallel volume intersection method based on planeto-plane homography for real-time 3D volume reconstruction using active cameras. This paper mainly focuses on the acceleration of back-projection from silhouette images to 3D space without using any sophisticated software technique, such as octree volume representation, or look-up table based projection acceleration. Also this paper presents a parallel intersection method of projected silhouette images. From the preliminary experimental results we estimate near frame-rate volume reconstruction for a life-sized mannequin can be achieved at 3cm spatial resolution on our PC cluster system.

Real-Time Active 3D Shape Reconstruction for 3D Video
In this paper, we focus on the real-time 3D shape reconstruction of an object moving in a wide area(e.g. a dancing human). To efficiently record dynamically changing 3D object shape, the real-time 3D shape reconstruction and active tracking are required. For the real-time 3D shape reconstruction, we propose a parallel plane-based volume intersection method. By implementing the algorithm on a PC...
متن کاملRadiative Transport Based Flame Volume Reconstruction from Videos.
We introduce a novel approach for flame volume reconstruction from videos using inexpensive charge-coupled device (CCD) consumer cameras. The approach includes an economical data capture technique using inexpensive CCD cameras. Leveraging the smear feature of the CCD chip, we present a technique for synchronizing CCD cameras while capturing flame videos from different views. Our reconstruction ...

This study assessed accuracy of surface and underwater 3D reconstruction of a calibration volume with and without homography. A calibration volume (6000 × 2000 × 2500 mm) with 236 markers (64 above and 88 underwater control points--with 8 common points at water surface--and 92 validation points) was positioned on a 25 m swimming pool and recorded with two surface and four underwater cameras. Pl...
متن کاملExploiting Inertial Planes for Multi-sensor 3D Data Registration PhD Dissertation
This dissertation explores the use of inertial planes for the purpose of scene 3D data registration. The scene is observed by a network of cameras and inertial sensors where each camera is rigidly coupled to an inertial sensor. Taking advantage of inertial sensor (IS), a 3D reconstruction method is proposed with no planar ground assumption. Moreover, IS in each couple is used to define a virtua...
متن کاملA Real-Time System for Full Body Interaction with Virtual Worlds
Real-time video acquisition is becoming a reality with the most recent camera technology. Three-dimensional models can be reconstructed from multiple views using visual hull carving techniques. However the combination of these approaches to obtain a moving 3D model from simultaneous video captures remains a technological challenge. In this paper we demonstrate a complete system architecture all...
